How to get there

By Plane
There are two options for those planning to fly to Jericoacoara. They can fly into Fortaleza Airport (FOR), or directly into Jericoacoara Airport (JJD). 

Personal Vehicle or Rentals
You can rent a 4WD car in Fortaleza and take highway CE-085 to Jeri. The trip takes about four hours. It is advisable to hire a local guide if you are planning to drive there. 

By Bus
You can take a bus from the city of Fortaleza to the municipality of Jijoca de Jericoacoara. This service is available from three bus stations in Fortaleza: Fátima, Antônio Bezerra, and Messejana.

Getting around

On Foot
Walking around Jeri is as intense as it is enjoyable. You get to walk around the whole village and also enjoy all the natural beauty while you do it.

Local weather is pretty hot, so pack light clothes. Do not forget to take a cap and plenty of sunscreen. The best period to visit Jericoacoara is between the months of July and September.
